This report is a comprehensive description of the geology of the Virginia coastal plain from the fall zone to the Atlantic Ocean, and south of the James River. Arranged by county, the subsurface geology and aquifers are described. Ground-water chemistry and the characteristics of many logged water wells are tabulated. This is one of several reports by the author that cover the southern Virginia Coastal Plain. The outcome of reported anomalies in Chloride composition and sediment (formation) thickness, depth and composition supported discovery of the Chesapeake Bay Impact Crater. Out-of-print.
