Based on earlier recorded occurrences of precious metals in the historic Irish Creek tin mine area, geochemical investigations were conducted to evaluate gold, base metal, and thorium anomalies at the Irish Creek mine, Yankee Horse Ridge prospect, and the Buck Mountain mine in Rockbridge County. This report describes the results of geochemical sampling from rock and soil grab samples, stream sediment samples, soil traverses, and trenches. Gamma-ray spectrometry was also conducted along selected traverses. The figures include sketch maps of the sampled areas showing the locations of the traverses. The appendices include the tabulated results of geochemical analysis.
