By Kelly, W.S., Lassetter, W.L., and Costain, J.K., 29 p. From September of 2010 through January of 2014, the Virginia Department of Energy’s Geology and Mineral Resources Program contributed to the development of the National Geothermal Data System (NGDS) as part of a three-year program to improve the availability of data for geothermal energy research and resource development. The NGDS was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the Association of American State Geologists (AASG) and developed as a distributed database network to provide geothermal information to federal and state agencies, commercial businesses and industry, educational institutions, researchers, and the general public. This report summarizes the contributions from the Geology and Mineral Resources Program of the Virginia Department of Energy to the NGDS. Online only.
